WBL Workshop #5

On Monday, March 20th, my class and I attended a WBL workshop in school. The WBL workshop was an opportunity for us to get to meet someone that works for a well-known company, and gets to talk to us about the industry, and the profession you do, if you work for a certain company. We talked about what certain job positions a company has, and what the position does on a work day, and the tasks that is required for the job. We also talked about what students do after their high school career. Such as applying for a college or even a career. The first things we talked about was a resume. Because when you apply for a job/profession in the future, you need to have a resume talking about what are your credentials, what skills you have, and what extra curricular activities you have done in your past, and when you finished high school, and if you went to/finished college. Also, a resume shows the people who you're asking the job for, what type of person you are, and if your qualified for the job you're applying to. In the workshop we also discussed on what you shouldn't put on your resume, if you put these things on, it looks bad. Those things are your age, religion, and your gender. We also took a look at sample resumes and saw that it included skills, achievements, volunteer experiences, and your education career, and your work experience if you worked before applying for the job. These are the things we learned and discussed at the WBL workshop. The purpose of this workshop was to learn about the do's and font's on a resume, and what jobs want to see on it.

Project 1: Andy Warhol

In class, a few days ago, I did a project. It was based on making a portrait of yourself. The portraits was inspired by a man named, Andy Warhol. I did this project on an application called "CS6 Photoshop". The first step in this lab was to take an image of yourself, and to make it, it's own layer. Then I duplicated the layer, and deleted the original layer. Then with the new later, I had to duplicate it again, and put a new "color fill" layer, which was an all white layer color for the background. Then I went back to the first layer, that I duplicated and, I had to use the magnetic lasso tool, and only select my body. After that, when you have selected our body, you make it a new layer via copy. Then we made the image/new layer black and white, and changed the filter.  Then I, changed the image size. After that, I made it a whole new layer again, and transformed the photo to one-forth of the page, and duplicated the new image 3 more times, and put each image ...

Window vs. Mac

Window vs. Mac. If you had to choose on to have what would you pick. It can be based upon software, looks, etc. I would choose Mac. I think that it's better. One reason why I would choose Mac is because, it does't get any viruses, while windows computers and laptops can get viruses. Another reason I would choose mac is because, in my opinion I think the Macs looks futuristic and better, than Windows look. Another reason why I would choose the Mac over Windows is because, Mac has better software and has more application that can teach people things. For example, Mac is better for people who want to create things like websites, music, games, etc. This is why I would choose Mac over Windows

Friday, February 17, 2017 my web design class and I went on a trip to the metropolitan museum of art. We saw a lot of historic art and learned a lot about each piece of art the museum had. For example, some of the historic art that we saw at the museum was, a blue wall which was a Islamic wall, facing towards Mecca, which is the direction they pray to Allah. Another historic art we saw on the trip was, 3 panels connected to each other, and each panel had 6 sides, Each panel had a different flow of a waterfall. One panel had a lot of water, and some panels had very little water. We learned  little bit about each art we saw, and we learned some of the messages behind each piece of art. For example, the waterfall panel's message was about, things being in a different form/way, they're still the same.
