Lab 7: Filters
A few days ago in class, I did a lab on an application called, "CS6 Photoshop". The first step of the lab was to make a new file, which created a blank white canvas. Then I had to select 2 different photos. The first photo had to be something including a human face. The second photo could be anything you want. Then I had to place the first photo in the top-left corner only once. The I had to make 4 more copies of the second photo, which should be a total of 5 duplicates of the second photo, and 6 photos total including the first and second pictures. Then you place the 5 pictures next to the first photo, having 3 on top, and 3 on the bottom. Then you rasterize all the layers, select the first photo(the photo with the face) and liquify it. Liquify is basically changing the picture by stretching it. You can make the facial structures bigger or smaller like the eyes, mouth, nose, or ears. Once you've done that, you select one of the second photos and apply filter on it, which can be anything like coloring pencil, dry brush, etc. You do one different filter for each of the second picture. The last step is that, you select the background(canvas) layer, and go to filter, go to "Render", and select different clouds. Different clouds adds a cloudy effect to the background, but you get to pick what color the clouds look, and how they look. The objective of this lab is to learn the different types of filters and how it makes the pictures look completely different.
